Time for a poem by Emily Dickinson

Emily Dickinson’s Hope is the Thing With Feathers is part of a larger work called Life. It was written in 1861.

“HOPE” is the thing with feathers–
That perches in the soul–
And sings the tune without the words–

A fly and a flea in a flue

I was on holiday recently (hence the pause in service) and while trying to deal with bites from small flying things a friend of mine from Switzerland thought me this limerick:

A fly and a flea in a flue
Were imprisoned, so what could they do?
