I’ve alway been confused by when spring officially starts. On the radio this morning I heard that today, 1st February, is the first day of spring. Considering it’s zero degrees out there and there’s plenty of frost about it’s hard to believe. But according to the Celtic tradition, which is based solely on daylight and the strength [...] Just over two weeks since my last update and my amaryllis now stands at a proud and healthy 20 centimetres. Any day now it should burst out and start to flower. Here are the photos to prove it.
It’s funny how the brain works. I guess because “amaryllis” and “Amadeus” [...] I’ve a cold. Sniff, sniff, cough, cough, splutter. I’ve had it for a few days now. It isn’t flu, no temperature, muscle aches or headaches involved, but it’s kept me in bed since the weekend. I’ve received lots of TLC. Plenty of hot drinks, tissues, soups and loads of attention.
